Finishing Ladder

Finishing Ladder

Game objective: work your way through a series of Double combinations, practising both consistency on the same target and smooth transitions between different Doubles.

The game consists of 13 rounds. In each round, you have 3 darts, and each dart has an exact target.

The training starts with the lower Doubles and gradually works its way up to D20. Some rounds require you to hit the same Double three times, while others follow a specific sequence:

  • D1 → D1 → D1
  • D4 → D2 → D1
  • D4 → D4 → D4
  • D8 → D4 → D2
  • D8 → D8 → D8
  • D10 → D5 → D5
  • D10 → D10 → D10
  • D12 → D6 → D3
  • D12 → D12 → D12
  • D16 → D8 → D4
  • D16 → D16 → D16
  • D20 → D10 → D5
  • D20 → D20 → D20

Scoring: each dart must hit its exact required Double. Every correct hit scores 2 points. Hitting any other target scores no points.

You cannot substitute the required target with another Double – each dart has a specific assigned target, and only hitting that exact Double counts.

Finishing Ladder trains Double control, throwing consistency and natural transitions between the finishing fields commonly used to close out a leg. Sequences such as D4 → D2 → D1, D16 → D8 → D4 or D20 → D10 → D5 are particularly useful for practising quick adjustments to the next Double.

The game ends after all 13 rounds have been completed. The more required Doubles you hit in the specified sequence, the higher your final score will be.
