Overdrive

Overdrive

Goal: build your Combo, maintain high accuracy and use the multiplier to push your score higher and higher.

The game consists of 12 rounds of 3 darts. You start with a Combo x1 multiplier.

In each round, you have 3 darts at the currently indicated sector. Hits are scored according to the standard scoring system for this mode:

  • Single = 1 point,
  • Double = 2 points,
  • Treble = 3 points,
  • Single Bull = 1 point,
  • Double Bull = 2 points.

The targets are:

20 → 19 → 18 → 17 → 16 → 15 → 14 → 13 → 12 → 11 → 10 → Bull

The most important element of the game is the Combo system. The number of successful hits in a round determines what happens to your current multiplier:

  • 0 hits = reset Combo to x1,
  • 1 hit = Combo drops by 1 level,
  • 2 hits = Combo remains unchanged,
  • 3 hits = Combo increases by 1 level and you receive an additional +3 points.

The maximum level is Combo x4.

Points scored in a round are multiplied by the Combo level you had at the start of that round. The Combo change then applies to the following round.

This means that reaching x4 is only the beginning. To keep maximum Overdrive active, you must continue hitting at least 2 of your 3 darts. A weaker round reduces your multiplier, while a complete miss immediately sends you back to x1.

Overdrive rewards accuracy, consistency and pressure control. Two hits are enough to protect your current level, but only a perfect 3-hit round allows you to accelerate further.

The game ends after all 12 rounds have been played. The best scores require building Combo x4 as quickly as possible and then defending it through the remaining targets.
