Game objective: improve your accuracy on awkward and less frequently chosen Doubles and learn to switch between them quickly.
The game focuses on D1, D3, D5, D7, D9, D11, D13, D15, D17 and D19. Instead of the most popular Doubles, you are given targets that often cause more problems during finishing.
The first part of the training focuses on consistency. In each round, you have 3 darts at the same Double:
The next part begins quick target-switching practice. Each of the three darts now has a different target, for example:
The final rounds once again mix single-target sets with combinations requiring an immediate target change, including D17 → D19 → D15, D5 → D1 → D3 and D7 → D9 → D11.
Scoring: each hit on the exact specified Double scores 2 points. Hitting a Single, Treble, different Double or missing completely scores no points.
Awkward Doubles trains two key elements: consistency on awkward finishing targets and the ability to quickly find a new Double after changing targets. This prevents the training from being limited to comfortable D20, D16 or D10.
The game ends after all 20 rounds have been completed. The maximum score requires hitting all 60 darts on the exact specified Doubles.
