Nemesis

Nemesis

Goal: break the habit of relying on the most comfortable sectors and improve control over less comfortable areas of the board.

The game consists of 12 rounds of 3 darts and deliberately avoids classic, safe scoring zones such as 20 and 19.

Scoring:

  • Single = 1 point,
  • Double = 2 points,
  • Treble = 3 points.

The first part of the game takes you through less comfortable sectors:

3 → 7 → 13 → 14

In each of these rounds, you have 3 darts at the indicated sector. Singles, Doubles and Trebles are scored for 1, 2 and 3 points respectively.

You then move on to a series of exact Doubles:

  • D1 → D1 → D1,
  • D3 → D3 → D3,
  • D7 → D7 → D7,
  • D13 → D13 → D13.

In these rounds, only hitting the exact indicated Double counts. A Single or Treble of the same number does not count as a successful hit.

The final part of the game returns to entire sectors:

2 → 1 → 9 → 5

Nemesis forces you to frequently move your point of aim and work on areas of the board that are easily overlooked during regular scoring practice.

The game ends after all 12 rounds have been played. A high score requires both good control of entire sectors and precision on less frequently practiced Doubles.
